Quick Hive & Honey Update
Greetings from the Firefly Overwintering Apiary in Delton, Michigan. Here is a picture from earlier this week after 20 inches of snow fell chased by some very harsh, unrelenting cold air (15 degrees F with the wind-chill). Don’t worry, the hive girls are doing GREAT…clustered together in a snuggly ball with ample food reserves and ventilation. It has been a strange winter so far with extremely mild conditions (60 degrees F on Christmas day), up until this past week. As I walk through the winter apiary and do my hive checks, it’s always such a welcome and reassuring sound to hear and feel the warm buzz on my ear through the upper ventilation and entry/exit hole. I look forward to sharing more hive updates and behind the scenes perspectives with you this winter, but for now just wanted to share the news – we are SOLD OUT of FIREFLY’S RAW HONEY for the season!
Friends, we cannot thank you enough for the amazing, warm ‘honey love’ you share with us every year. This is now the fourth year in a row we have sold out before the New Calendar Year. Slowly and sustainably, we have been growing our apiary and with it, honey production. Amazingly, we continue to have incredible demand for the product the bees collect and curate from our family’s organic farm. THANK YOU so much for the incredible support. We are so grateful for you, and look forward to providing you incredible raw nectar in the future. Have a cozy and wonderful day!
Wishing you all the VERY BEST!
Your Beekeeper,
Virginia B
