As a kid I always found myself finding and sitting next to a big, strong tree. At school we had a big, strong tree on the playground, on the farm we had a big, strong tree on the field, and now at my forever home, we have a big, strong tree. This is that tree.
All I know about this tree is that it’s GIGANTIC for a mulberry. Somehow it found a way to root in and grow strong over top an old concrete foundation that should have been a barrier to the soil. Yet, it has found a way to connect to a life source. Perhaps, it’s the wide open space in the canopy above the ground where it gets to spread and grow, pulling nutrients from the atmosphere that’s helped it to compensate for the challenges on the ground. It’s amazing what freedom can do.
As you can see, I find myself very drawn to this tree and lucky to be near it here on the farm. I call it The Meditation Tree. Sitting with the stillness of this tree …finding the stillness inside of me. All the many colors inside flashing through my heart and mind….
